I like to plan things. I love to make to-do lists.
I really love to make charts/spreadsheets.
I like details. I like dates & times.
I love calendars & planners. I like to be organized.
I like to research things. I like to be prepared.
I like to have a plan & stick to it.
Let’s be honest, in some ways you could consider me a "control freak."
If there is one thing a non-world racer should know, life on the race is unpredictable.
Minute-by-minute,
day-by-day,
and month-by-month things will be changing.
Changing, always changing.
Ministry will change, travel plans will change, teams will eventually change, day-to-day life will change constantly, and our route may change again.
As you can imagine, the world race life-style is one that an organized & planning/detail person has to really learn to adjust to. (*deep breath*)
At training camp, we agreed to give up expectations for our ministry, our route, our teams, and our idea of adventure.
More than giving up expectations, I had to also agree in my head and heart to give up control.
God is in control.
Not me, GOD.
He has a plan.
He is walking before us.
He knows what our ministries will be.
He knows who my teammates will be.
He knows what countries we are going to.
He knows it all.
In giving up my need for control, I am opening my hands to receive what the Lord wants to give me.
My prayer is that I will maintain a posture of open hands through-out the race.
Open hands = getting rid of the tight grip I have on control, letting go of the world & my worldly ways

In letting going & losing control, I will be gaining.
Gaining freedom,
& love,
& grace,
& blessings,
& favor,
& a kingdom perspective,
& a greater depth of understanding of my inheritance.
It will be hard,
and scary at times
but 100% worth it.
Pray that I will keep a posture of open-hands while on the race.
