Those of us not musically inclined perched ourselves at the tables on the far end of the sanctuary writing, reading, chatting, and computer-ing.
Our two mandolin players and two guitar players hung out at the front with the sound guy and local worship team.
The local worship team played some songs then our team played some songs.

That’s when I heard the familiar three chords of “Es Por Ti,” a worship song my teammate Allie wrote. It’s a beautiful song that I really appreciate… the first hour it’s stuck in my head. After that, I start muttering to Allie under my breath.
I looked up from my Kindle to shoot her a face that said, “It’s finally out of my head and you’re playing it again.”
She laughed. It was a throw-your-head-back and laugh kind of laughter. It was a laughter of joy combined with a face that said, “THIS IS AWESOME!”
She was right. It was awesome.
See Allie had the dream of her song being used to make His name known. Being used to glorify Him among the nations.
We’d been on the Race for one full day and her dream had come true.
The local worship team had joined her adding drums, bass, and acoustic guitar to her mandolin-based melody.
More than enhancing the song stuck in my head all day, more than Allie’s dreams coming true, the nations were uniting together in worship and sharing the cry of their hearts too.

Es por Ti que vivo
Es por Ti que estoy aqui
Es por Ti que entrego todo
Todo para Ti.
Simple words. Simple song. Deep heart-cry.
It’s for You that I live
It’s for You that I’m here
It’s for You that I surrender all
All for You.
Make it the cry of your heart. Make it the one on repeat in your head. Make it the reason you’re alive.
Es por Ti.
PS: You can find “Es Por Ti” on iTunes. It’s totally worth getting stuck in your head.
