Why?  It’s one of the most important questions we ask ourselves.  Why should I get out of bed this morning?  Why do I go to work?  Why do I do what I do?  After all, we do only get one life to live, and it’s not all that long.

This week I was sitting in a meeting with a great man (and co-worker) named Clint Bokelman who is currently discipling me, and he asked me this very question.  Why?  Why do we do the World Race?  What is it about?  As we paused and put our strategies and plans on the shelf, we were reminded that our goal is to wake God’s children up to the reality of who He is, who He has made them to be, and the responsibility He has given them to do His work in this world.

Every year, we get the privilege of having over 1000 young people come through our doors because they are looking to do just that.  And we get to walk the journey with them, train them, encourage them and challenge them to step into deeper and greater things with God.  It’s an incredible opportunity, and it gets me out of bed in the morning (well, actually, Max gets me out of bed in the morning, but it gets me to work!).

In just a few days, we’ll have a new batch of 160 people coming in to be trained and prepared to head out on the World Race.  The Swan family will be running full steam, and we’ll be loving every minute of it.  If you ever have questions about what we do, just ask and we’d love to share!

My half ironman this past weekend (I started smiling when I saw Maxi cheering me on!)

Enjoying the beautiful race day!
