This past week, I had the privilege of being involved in yet
another World Race training camp!  It
never ceases to amaze me the ways that God works in people’s lives during this
week.  We see the beginning of a process
of growth and transformation in these people, and it gets me so excited every
time!

I wasn’t prepared for God to mess me up this week.  After all, I’m one of the people who’s
responsible for making sure that others get messed up!  I’m there to teach, train, instigate and stir the
pot so that people start taking a look at themselves and at their Father.

So one night, Ron Walborn was speaking about praying for
healing.  I believe that God is a healer,
and I’ve seen it happen more than once now, but for some reason, I’m not the
first one to jump at the chance to pray for someone.  What if God doesn’t heal her?  Will I look dumb?  Will people think my faith isn’t strong
enough?  Will people question God’s
goodness?  Why is this suddenly all about me?  This one is just easier to
avoid for me, which is why I was comfortably positioned at the back of the auditorium for this session.

Ron asked for someone to come up who wanted prayer for
healing, and a girl named Bekah came to the front with a walking boot on her
left foot.  He asked Sean and Ashley to
come up and pray for her.  This is when I
panicked.  I knew that Sean was in a
different room, and I felt God urge me, “You go up there instead.”  So I decided to man up, and I ran backstage
to find Sean.

When I couldn’t find him, I walked back in, and Ashley
called me up front.  Shoot.  Now I couldn’t avoid it.  So Bekah is a professional dancer, and had
recently been injured.  She tore two
ligaments in her ankle and broke a bone in her foot.  Lots of pain.
As we began to pray, her husband came up to pray with us, and God opened
my eyes.  This wasn’t even about a foot,
but a marriage.  We talked and prayed,
and God began a process of healing in their marriage that is so powerful!  He opened up places in their hearts that only
He had access to, and they broke.  It was
one of the most sacred moments I’ve ever been a part of.  I can’t wait to see these two when they
finish their journey.  There is such
renewed love between them, and we could see it so clearly.

What about her foot/ankle you might ask?  A picture is worth a thousand words.

Yup, dancing for Jesus, and there’s no boot on that left foot!
