Last week as we were gathered as a squad my gracious teammate shared words with the squad to inspire us to share precious moments. We have had many opportunities that are special on this journey. She reminded us of the gift we have to share these moments and show God’s glory working in quirky beautiful ways.

I’d like to share a “Precious Moment” I had this past week… On Sunday night we headed to the village church which meets on the side of the pastors house. When we arrived there were several plastic yard chairs gathered in front of the keyboard but by the end of worship some 20 would be added to pack the area with some room left for standing. We stood there singing Spanish songs and cries were sung to our Heavenly Father. It was a beautiful picture of their gathering as a community to celebrate what kept them full of joy.

As the pastor began I drifted towards the back since my 5’10” self would be block the nicaraguans. As I saw an opportunity to sit on a brick wall I made my way to the front side of the house. This is when I met two sweet girls. Through my broken Spanish I learned their names and learned they had been long time friends. They gave me treats from the birthday party they had just gone to, And we giggled away as they whispered secrets I couldn’t catch.
As the service ended, our whole team was invited to the front to form a receiving line of hugs. After the church came through my two new amaigas made their way through a second time and we danced and giggled some more.
This was a precious moment I want to hold on to. As the sweat came down my back and as the mosquitos enjoyed my foreign blood; we laughed hard. We rejoiced in giggles and we made a memory of it!

As month 10 is already underway, I’m trying to soak up each precious moment I have. Nicaragua has been good to me so far and it’s just the beginning of the month. I’m so grateful God gives moments each day to rejoice in His goodness! Hope you enjoy the moment He has for you today!
