We are currently participating in UnSung Hero month. What that means is we get to find organizations that future racers could be paired with for their month in Saigon. One difficult part for us is that Vietnam is a closed country. Entering into this month we knew it would be difficult due to not being able to be as forthcoming as we would like. Last week we discovered the difficulty of finding things online due to the nature of security. We have held onto hope and pressed on.

On Sunday we were put in a stage of awe. We visited one of the churches here that we happened to get in contact with. Immediately upon walking in we were greeted with excitement, hospitality and kindness. The first woman we talked with showed interest and delight to hear what we were doing. She then explained the work she is doing here. Before sitting down, all of us Hungry Youngry were greeted by someone in the church and were in awe of the work we were hearing of from members of the church.

Let alone, what the pastor spoke on was incredible. He talked about radical prayer and praying the big prayers with expectant hearts. As I was sitting there I felt the talk was for us directly. Corporate worship in a closed country is something to get be jumping about, I have to say my smile broke into laughter a few times.

After the benediction people flooded to us again to introduce us to others, to hand out telephone numbers and to invite us to home group. It was almost overwhelming by the incredible response we got from the members and amount of people doing great work here. The pastor and is wife asked us out to lunch, we enthusiastically jumped at the opportunity.

After the day was said and done we had been given phone numbers of those who speak fluent Vietnamese, given potential teaching opportunities, met members of this church who are doing incredible work and was just given a beginning. The pastor emailed his community to communicate our aim for the month and we are excited for what to come of that as well. You can say we were more than filled up from this experience. Here we were expecting to maybe meet one person of contact. We left feeling amped, having been invited into great worship and to be anxiously waiting to see how this week develops from all this.

Thank you for your prayers this month as we desire to make contacts for future racers and to also sing praises of the Unsung Heroes.
