I know I have yet to post a blog about Ecuador, however, this blog is more urgent.
My new team, “The Fellowship,” and I are currently serving in Blantyre, Malawi with Bethel Chapel Missions. We are evangelizing in the community, organizing seminars for the various churches on how to grow in their relationship with Christ, possibly teaching English, and hopefully organizing a Vacation Bible School which has never been done in this area.
Our ministry contact, Mr. Ghent, has allowed our team to use our own personal gifts and talents to serve this month. We have found a need in the community and a feasible way to assist outside our own physical abilities.
The churches connected with Bethel Chapel Missions throughout the city of Blantyre are growing. Bethel Chapel Missions is affective in their ministry and evangelism but there is only one problem.
While people are coming to know Christ they do not have a way to grow and increase in their relationship with The Lord through The Bible. The community is very poor and even pastors find it very difficult to purchase their own bibles due to lack of funds. In a church of 30-75 people only 2-3 of the members have bibles.
While Mr. Ghent’s ultimate dream and goal is to obtain 2,000 bibles my team and I have decided on a goal of 500 bibles. Each bible cost about $11 USD. The total goal is $5,500.
In addition to this goal any extra that is raised will go towards buying chairs for the church. Each chair is about $8 USD and they are in need of 100 chairs. They currently are borrowing/renting chairs each Sunday and using bamboo mats to sit on.
This month was shortened because we had an extra week in Ecuador so our time to ask you to help in meeting this goal is very short. We have 12 days to meet this goal and receive the money in time to buy the bibles here before we leave.
There are more details concerning this fundraiser on the GoFundMe page our team has set up for this fundraiser. If you are interested please click on the link in this blog to donate.

Although I am still far from meeting my last deadline on March 1, I would love to ask you all to support this mission of 500 bibles in 12 days. I would love to see The Word of God in the hands of the people we are serving this month and I would love to show you pictures in a couple of weeks of the difference you helped make by making The Bible available to the people Blantyre, Malawi in their native language of Chichewa.
The 12 Days of Christmas may be over but may the season of giving and generosity never be over.
Please prayerfully consider partnering with my team and I on this mission.
We have completed four months on the race thus far but this is our first month together as a new team. Please continue to pray for us to grow together and keep Christ at the center of everything. It has been an awesome time together thus far and we want it to continue!
Also, if you message or email me and I do not respond it is because I have given up Internet for our time in Malawi apart from writing this blog.
I can not wait to share with you in about two weeks what God did in Ecuador and what He has been doing here during our time in Malawi!
