I'm not saying that my favorite place to experience God is in Statesboro, but I notice Him the most here. In community, in answered prayers, in the churches, in dark fields, on campus, and in wild conversations.

You know when you don’t have the words to properly express how thankful and overwhelmed by kindness you are? Yeah that’s where we’re at today. God has met me time and time again this week and it keeps getting sweeter.

Some of my friends pulled together with me on Sunday to host a pancake fundraiser at my church in Statesboro. Prior to Sunday I had never made pancakes, but we’re experts now (sometimes we whipped up some chocolate chip ones #pro). Pancakes were available for anyone and everyone, along with some sweet strawberry toppings and whip cream. Should I have apologized to the parents after filling their kiddos up with sweets? Yeah probably.

We set a little sign that briefly mentioned my mission and a pitcher for donations at the end of the table. During the hour & half we served our church, I tried so hard to not watch the pitcher. I didn’t want to be consumed by the monetary value. I sat in a mindset that just $5 is incredible, that making breakfast for my community is more important than any donation. After the service we poured the pitcher out and I was low-key shaking. I’m usually ok with simple counting, but I was genuinely overwhelmed by my community’s generosity. All in all, my community gifted over $400 towards my mission.

Much, awe.
