This is just going to be a really quick update blog to let you all know what has been going on!
Praise the Lord I actually have not had to do many fundraisers but I did do a garage sale two weekends in a row, thanks to my other set of parents Dave and Merri Wills, and Gretchen Danforth, it was a huge success. My parents were out of town, so they were life savers, seeing as I am NOT a detailed person. I tend to see the big picture, want to get there but when I think about all the details involved I back out, quickly! I made about $2,100 in total!!
Twenty days. That's right. Twenty days before I leave! I can not even believe how fast time has flown by! I found out what my team; Nikao, will be doing in the Philippines! We will be working in Manila with a program called K.I.M. We will be working with another team from our squad called Fuego de Dios (check them out, they are all AWEEESOME!!!!) doing work with orphanages, street children and some of the Government ran programs for them. Sometimes I get overwhelmed in orphanages because I feel like I want to make a connection with all the children, but I had recently read a blog from my friend, Kelly Williams and she talked about how she felt the same way. Instead she stated, "I have prayed that children would be placed in my path that I could really pour into while I was here. " Will you pray that for me, that I will be sensitive to the Holy Spirit and be able to pour in certain children, to maximize my impact and not feel overwhelmed.
I am at this weird stage now, that I am read to go but not leaving, and so I am getting blassssted antsy!
I am $3,000 away from being fully funded which if you asked me in the beginning if I thought that was possible I would have laughed in your face. Good thing God is capable of the impossible!
Ok, like I said, nothing special this time around but I wanted to update you all, seeing as I have not written in quite some time either! I apologize! Thank you all for your love and support and for your kind words of my blogs.
ALSO, pray that I use my discretion as to what I NEED to pack and not just pack what I want, I am not sure if everything I WANT to pack will fit…. imagine that. : / haha Love you all!
