Here at HOPE DR, they have huge dreams for the future of this place, including to one day be a self-sustaining orphanage, where they teach children about the Lord and provide a place for healing and growth. They have dreams to plant churches throughout the DR, and introduce lots of people to the Lord. My squad gets to be a small part of putting feet to those dreams. Since we got here a week ago, we have been dragging rocks to create paths on the land, digging trenches for pipes, prayer-walking the streets for 5 or more hours a day, teaching English to local children, speaking and leading some worship for 2 nearby church plants. We are working to put together 2 all-day children’s days, where we will do puppet shows, dances, and games, all to introduce them to the Gospel.
It has been over a month, and I still wake up every morning thinking, “Wow! I’m on the World Race…”
