Here in Peru, we have been involved in Children’s programs, from one city to the next. We are partnering with a couple church members, who are greatly involved in the children’s programs. We sing songs, play games, teach them what it means to worship the Lord, give them opportunity to receive Christ, worship, and pray with each other. I think it has been a good time of growth for my team.

The thing that surprised me was when the executive pastor asked me to sing before the Gospel was preached. He had heard me sing his favorite hymn earlier in the week, and he said it brought him to tears. Would I be willing to sing it, in English? And of course, I said yes, though a little nervous. So at every children’s program and also at one Semana Santa (Holy Week) service at church, I sang “How Great Thou Art.”

Oh Lord my God, when I in awesome wonder

consider all the worlds Thy hands have made,

I see the stars; I hear the rolling thunder.

Thy power throughout the universe displayed.

Then sings my soul, my Savior, God, to Thee.

How great Thou art. How great Thou art.

Several people let me know that this song touched their hearts. God is so incredibly wonderful! I’m so humbled that He would use me to minister through music.
