I still have those moments, “Wow. I’m on the World Race!” I sit here in Costa Rica, on the balcony of my hostel, overlooking the beach, and it’s raining outside. What could be more beautiful? How could you not see the wonder and majesty and goodness of the Lord in these precious days.
It has been a little difficult, as I have been sick for about a month now. I’ve taken a couple different kinds of medication. This last medication seems to be the best, keeping the cough under control a little more and helping me breathe. And I try not to complain about how tired my body feels sometimes or how foggy my mind is with this sickness, partly because I have chosen it. You see, I refuse to take antibiotics. I’m very anti antibiotics. I was kinda happy about my ability to communicate in Spanish (which is still horrible, by the way), because I went in, told them I did not want antibiotics, named the medications that don’t work for me, and asked for something that would help with the cough and breathing. There was a time when I wouldn’t have been able to say all of that. Yay!
We are here in Costa Rica doing Unsung Heroes this month. We are in search of ministries unknown to AIM. We get to meet up with churches, missionaries, and any other Kingdom-minded organizations in Costa Rica in order to learn about them and get them connected with the World Race. I’m excited to see who the Lord leads us to meet.
