“Something good is going to happen to you today, and something good is going to happen to me today.” – Collin Clein

Collin Clein didn’t know that today was my first day of Street Evangelism. He didn’t know that I was nervous to approach people and strike up a conversation about Jesus, but as I sat across from him on the bus, listening to him talk to me about Jesus I couldn’t help notice the Holy Spirit through him telling me “something good is going to happen to you today.” God knew that I needed that conversation and to begin my morning of ministry with boldness and confidence.

Day two of street evangelism I approached an older lady sitting on a park bench over looking the harbor. Her name is Rosemary. She has been in South Africa for a week and was heading back to Barcelona the next day. A little bit of Italian and a little bit of english flowed together but I understood her. I asked her if she knew who Jesus was and she blankly shook her head no.

Wait, what?

To have this divine opportunity to share the love of Christ to a bewildered lady who was at a loss on who Jesus was, aroused my thinking. How big is this earth we live on? How many people have been untouched by the Holy Spirit? How many people have never spoken the word Jesus? As disciples of Jesus, it is our job to proclaim the gospel to unbelievers.

My last encounter while street evangelising was a more challenging experiance for me. The conversation flowed steadily until I asked her what religion she was. She didn’t believe in anything or any one. “If your good, than you’re good”, she said. When I talked about Jesus she would quickly speak over me and not listen. I directed the conversation to Heaven and Hell. She quiclkly said, there is no room for me in Heaven.  Once you accept Jesus into your heart, a house is being built just for you, the angels are singing and prasing God because another daughter of the King has been welcomed in to the family. Heaven does not simply run out of room!! The conversation ended at that. I am not discouraged in my conversation with Joann, because I planted the seed.

In God’s timing, that mustard seed will be harvested.
