Walking through the sun-scorched land of Cambodia my eyes dart in all directions at the rice fields and palm trees. The white cows a far chew their cud and boringly stare at you. Roosters are crowing. Naked todlers run and scream in their yards. The chirp of bells ring behind me and all of the kids from school peddle their bikes past me. The neighbors/locals give the biggest smiles and once I walk around the bend I am taken by the hand of an orphan.

New Hope for Orphans has changed me more than my desire to change their lifes. The 36 kids at New Hope Orphange love immensely. The rest of the month of November we get to laugh, dance, sing, teach, and play with orphans. Their is no schedule to our life here, we wake up each morning to the joyful noise of play time. Play time = all day.

The first week of transitioning into Cambodia, living in a orphanage, and having a new team I felt exhausted. The feeling of exhaustion lasted to long for me to handle. I have had to process that challenging days are opportunities to recieve more of God’s power.  God yearns for us to come to Him first before trying to figure it out on our own.

I live a “off beaten path” life in Cambodia and I adore every second of it.

My new team : Silver Linings
