“So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, good night,
I hate to go and leave this pretty sight.
So long, farewell, Auf wiedersehen, adieu,
Adieu, adieu, to yieu and yieu and yieu.”
This is the second time out of many that I will be saying good-bye to those around me. This good-bye isn’t as hard as the first, but it will be sad. I have come to know several of the women here who I have cooked with, and have enjoyed the steady presence.
Although this is a time of “farewell”, it will be a time of “hellos!” I am very excited to be heading to Cambodia and seeing what God has in store for my team and I-it will be amazing whatever it is. Cambodia is such a sad country, as are most of the ones we will be going to. In a matter of four years, 2 million people were brutally murdered by the Khmer Rouge (about 1/5 of the total population). This left the country in shock and in ruins. Since 1979 things have been progressing, but the pain is still there. It will be interesting to see how the people are, and to love them exactly how they are. I wonder how someone can recover from such brutality?
I do not know if I will have internet access or not, but hopefully I will have a chance to catch up with all ya’ll along the way.
Thanks for your continued prayers, I appreciate and need them!
Prayer Request:
– Safe travels to Cambodia
– Health
– Team relations
– That we are able to see and Hear God as we move into this dark country. That we can spread God’s love to the lost and broken.
