Last week our ministry for the day was a “treasure hunt.” The way a treasure hunt works is we spend time with the Lord and with our team in prayer. As we pray, we ask Jesus to show us words, images, or people that He wants us to talk to that day. After writing down the things He showed us, we headed into the community.
Every member of my team heard different things from God. The two words I heard were “red” and “woman.” Not long after we left the mission house, we saw a woman walking down the street wearing red from head to toe.
We ran after her. She was pretty far away. Once we caught up, our translator explained what we were doing and asked if we could talk with her for a few minutes. She accepted.
I sat down and told her about Jesus. I shared with her who He was and why He is important to both me and everyone else in the world.
She had a few questions, but was mostly amazed that God planned for us to talk to her. Consequently, a family member of hers recently became a christian. She was still skeptical, but had been wondering if maybe this was the real God.
Though she did not want to pray for salvation at that moment, she did ask for information on a church in the area.
I watered seeds in a garden ready for harvest. I fully believe that the woman in red will walk with Jesus in heaven.
… just a little fun point: a bird pooped on my head while I was witnessing to this woman. This was at 11am and I didn’t get home to wash my hair until 4pm. World Race things!!!
