As many of you know I have been serving in Haiti over the past two years. This past year I have been working with a group of children that represent the phrase, “faith like a child.” I went to work with them thinking I was going to make a difference in their lives and help them to grow in their faith. However they were the teachers, they taught me how to love, how to worship, and what a family really looks like. They have shown me what it means to have “faith like a child.”
When the World Race was presented to me back in December I knew this could be an opportunity for the Lord to use me in big ways. I prayed about this opportunity and the Lord opened doors, so I decided to take a step of faith. I always thought once I felt this comfortable in one place where I knew the Lord was using me, and working in me, that would be where the Lord wanted me. However, the Lord has so much more in store. We always need to be willing and ready to surrender to him. I was accepted, and will be leaving for the World Race in September of this year. It has been one of the hardest decisions to leave those children, and yet I know the Lord is going to use this time for his glory. I want to surrender to the Lord and his plans for my life. I know through this journey he will teach me lessons that will help me further his kingdom.
So the world race, a unique journey that a group of young adults join together and travel the world spreading the gospel. We will be traveling to 11 countries in 11 months. The type of work we will be doing includes, teaching, orphan care, manual labor, street evangelism, and more. The eleven countries are Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Vietnam, Cambodia, Burma, Thailand, Turkey, Romania, Bulgaria, and Albania.
I need to raise minimum $16,255 for my trip. This amount includes travel, room and board, and insurance. We are each called to our own mission field. Whether the Lord is calling you out in the field, helping financially to send others, or as a prayer support. We are all called to do something. I ask that you prayerfully consider which the Lord is calling you to.
This trip will be straining. We will be pushed to our breaking point. We will need to come together as a family. I ask that you will come together and be in prayer over this next year with us. I ask that you will pray for our safety, strength, courage, and determination. The Lord brought us all here for a reason. He never brings you anywhere to leave you. I am fully confident he will be with us all along the way; I ask that you will pray for us to be open to receive him.
