Hello all!
My name is Katherine Gavin and I am 25 years old. I am from Sandpoint, Idaho. I have two brothers and some pretty amazing parents. Besides the Lord they are the main reason I am where I am today. I owe so much to them. I graduated from the University of Idaho 3 years ago with Non Profit and Community Development degree with a minor in International Studies. I was also heavily involved in Alternative Service Break trips. These trips were designed to stretch you and push you out of your comfort zone. I was able to learn and grow with real life experience outside of the classroom. Which paved the way for my work in Haiti.
Over the past two years I have been working in Port au Prince, Haiti.The people, situation, and overall experience taught me so much and strengthened my relationship with the Lord. I learned how to interact with all different types of people. The Lord showed me how to feel confident in him and create deep/long lasting relationships.
Back in December I was presented with this amazing opportunity to serve the Nations. The Lord opened doors left and right for me to go on this trip. I am so excited to see where the Lord will take us on our journey. I am excited to love deeply and to face challenges that come our way.
Passions:
Haiti- When I went to Haiti a couple years ago, I completely fell in love and consider it my second home. The people there are so full of life, love and hope. They simply radiate JESUS.
Serving- I love to volunteer. I love to serve others any way I can.
Being Active- I love to work out and stay active. I almost became a personal trainer before the Lord snagged me and sent me into the mission field.
Outdoors- love camping, snowboarding, hiking, simply exploring
I am goofy and love to laugh. Being able to brighten someone else’s day is my favorite.
