When I tell people I’m doing this trip, I’ve gotten a lot of questions (how are you going to stay in touch? What will you be doing? Will you live in a tent? etc.) yet one of the most popular questions I have not been able to answer…until now!

How are you going to pack for 9 months?

Great question, friend.

Well, I have attempted to answer that question for you, and I’m super excited because I’m finally packed! We have still a few days before leaving the country, so a couple things might change, but currently contained within my 60L big pack and my 28L day pack, I have the following:

2 camis (one black, one grey)

1 tank top

4 t-shirts

4 v-necks (3 quick dry style; 1 black cotton from Target)

3 swoop neck (1 beige, 1 white, 1 orange)

1 long sleeve shirt

1 long dress, 1 short dress

1 maxi skirt, 2 shorter skirts

1 cardigan, 1 blue jean button up shirt

1 pair of jeans

1 spandex short, 1 running leggings

1 yoga pants

3 capri-style pants

1 basketball shorts

2 nike-styles shorts

1 tankini

14 pairs of undies (some quick dry, some normal)

2 normal bras, 5 sports bras

2 pairs of socks

1 rain jacket

Tennis shoes

Jesus sandals (that’s really the name…I’m not kidding. Check it on amazon) 

~Miscellaneous

Travel sized: toothpaste, floss, shampoo, conditioner, baby powder, lotion, face wash, purell, and febreeze (for when it’s just to stinky to function)

2 toothbrushes, 1 retainer, and cases

2 deodorants (one “super strength” because it’s gonna be HOT)

Contacts (year supply), 2 cases, and solution

1 pair of glasses and 1 case, 1 pair of sunglasses

Meds/ 1st aid: malaria pills, vitamins, culturelle, advil, inhaler, band-aids, neosporin, benadryl cream.

Razors (just a few to start with)

Lady products

3 necklaces, 1 ring, 1 watch

1 mascara, 1 foundation, 1 eye shadow

1 hair cutting scissors, 1 nail clipper, 1 tweezers

1 nail polish

Baby wipes

Hair ties, bobby pins, 2 clips, and 3 headbands

Hair gel (could do without, but hey, it fit. why not?)

1 lice comb (been there, done that. fingers crossed we won’t have to use it, haha!)

1 large quick dry towel, 1 hair wrap, 1 normal hand towel

1 laptop, 1 kindle, 1 camera, 1 phone, and chargers

1 Hard drive

1 USB

1 adapter set, 1 surge protector, 1 earphone splitter

2 earphones

2 bug spray

20 little bungee chords

and last but not least, Jerry. Jerry is my beloved plastic dinosaur that my friend, Lexi, gave me. I will use him like a “flat Stanley” to take pictures with as I travel.
