Eleven months! I feel so blessed to be able to participate in this adventure. For the last year I have felt a tug in my heart to do a long term mission trip. I ran into a couple of obstacles finding the mission that God wanted me to do. One Tuesday night, instead of going to bible study, we helped a friend make calls about the “Passion 2006 Conference.” We called college students who filled out a form stating that they were interested in missions. During that night I found out about The World Race. An overwhelming peace in my heart came over me about this trip. One month later here I am about to start the adventure of a lifetime.
As for me, I am a 26 years old from Texas. I am a nurse and have been one for over 3 years. I work in the County emergency room in Dallas and have learned that I love adrenaline. My job is a big part of my life but an even larger part of my life is my friends and family. They are my support and have helped to shape me into the person I am today.
I have a heart to serve people. I have been on mission trips to Africa, down the Amazon in Brasil and to Mexico. God has given me the gift of nursing and I love to care for people when they are sick. I only have to work 3 days a week so my life is full of fun times. I enjoy dancing and hanging out with friends. I love to try to play the guitar. I am not very good but enjoy attempting it. Sunshine makes me happy and chocolate makes me happier. But above all I love God and love to learn more about him everyday of my life. “ So here we go, God lead the way.”
Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go. Joshua 1:9
