I have wild friends. They’re crazy. They’re definitely not perfect. They’re definitely some of the best people I’ve ever known. They definitely need Jesus just as much as I do. They want Jesus as much as I do.

I’ve learned a lot about friendship on the race.

What a gift.

Imagine trying to tell a blind man what color is like? Trying to describe the vibrance of orange, the joy of yellow, the rich spark of red. It would be impossible.

Imagine trying to tell someone who’s never truly had a friend that Jesus is their friend. It would be impossible.

I believe that’s why we have friends. To understand more fully who the Lord is in relation to us. To know what our realtionship with him can be like.

So when I look at my best, most fun, most joyful, most FULL friendships, this is what I learn about Jesus:

* He is creative.

* ‎He loves art, like I love art.

* ‎He loves trying new things, tasting new foods, laughing when they’re gross.

* ‎He is an adventurer that always invites me along. He invites me up mountains, across oceans, on road trips, into small villages and massive cities.

* He loves newness. New ideas. New thoughts. New ways of thinking. New pieces of paper that could hold any shape of ink. He loves making me new. He loves when I learn new things about him.

* ‎He loves encouraging me. It actually brings a smile to his face when he gets to give me a new perspective that pushes me into boldness – into who I’m made to be.

How on all of this Earth am I blessed enough to say that my friends have taught me all of this? Or rather that my father has taught me all of this through the friends he gave me?

Just super thankful right now. That’s it. Just smiling and feeling really blessed to be where I am. To be where my feet are, next to beautiful people that teach me about Jesus all the time.

10/10 would recommend writing down all the things your friends teach you about Jesus.

Sounds simple but that’s because it is.
