Meet my team!
I am one month into my time here in Botswana, and I’ve gotten to know my team so much better already! I wanted to give you a glimpse into my life on the field and I’ve spent 2,136 consecutive hours (roughly) with these people, so you should probably get to know them. What are your grandmother’s names? “Susan and Helen”

If you could join any band, what would it be? “Destiny’s Child”
What is your biggest pet peeve? “Frickin’ slurping. Every morning Nick Gold slurps his coffee and I want to splash it in his face.”
If you could be an olympic gold medalist in any sport, which sport would it be? “Rhythmic gymnastics. Do I have to say why? Because it’s frickin’ baller.”
What is one thing you brought on the race that you could have left at home? “I literally think I have used everything.”
What’s your favorite thing about the Lord? “My favorite thing about Him is that He always assures me that I am never alone, and that no matter what the circumstances are I always have Him.”
Favorite moment on the race so far? “On Monday I was holding a little baby, and I got to sing him to sleep and pray over him while he was sleeping.”

If you could join any band, what would it be? “Social Club Misfits. They seem fun.”
What’s your biggest pet peeve? “People that are really bad drivers.”
What is one thing you brought on the race that you definitely could have left at home? “Um…I brought a fire starter…I haven’t used it once.”
If you could be a gold medal olympian in any sport, which sport would it be? “Snowboarding. I saw their uniforms for this next winter olympics and they’re all dressed like astronauts…so that would be fantastic.”
What’s your favorite thing about the Lord? “He is always extending new grace, in areas I didn’t know I needed it.”
Favorite moment on the race so far? “When we convinced a drug dealer to go to church and then we got to share the gospel with him. Long story short, I made a drug dealer cry with my Bible.”

What’s your favorite thing about the Lord? “Wow, how vast our God is. What I love most about God is that he is a God who hears, he bends down and inclines his ear to his kids even though we are so small. He shows his face to the righteous. “I love the LORD, because he has heard my voice and my please for mercy. Because he inclined his ear to me, therefore I will call on him as long as I live.” Psalm 116:1-2
Favorite moment on the race so far? “I don’t think I can pick a favorite moment. It’s been all the little moments and individual conversations with people on the squad that have been my favorite. Their friendship is a blessing.”

What’s your favorite thing about the Lord? “How much He desires to have a relationship with me.”
Favorite moment on the race so far? “So I was trying to find a place to pee, and I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a latrine right there, so I’ll just use that!’ Psych! A dog decided to attack me, so I had to run away and in my head I was like ‘Gotta go get that rabbies shot!’ I did go pee, just not by the latrine.”
