My amazing team has done something fun and different for blogs this week! We all wrote a little something about each other and combined them into what we’ve called a ‘guest blog’. My teammates are so kind to have spent the time to think of funny memories and good stories. You can head over to my team blogs to learn more about them and what I admire most in them!
Alina:
Literally is one of the ksot joyouse people I know. Her laugh is CONTAGIOUS. When a dance party breaks out I know I can count on her to be my dance partner and whip out the most insane dance moves. Definitely enjoy “bathroom parties” with her on the daily. Fun fact: she is low key a hair dresser, not only did she cut off inches and inches of Josie’s hair at midnight, but she also gave me a hair trim. (You hear that mom, no more split ends!)
Well doing the race with Kate has been the best so far. Kate overflows with the Lord’s joy, whenever I am around her I instantly become more joyous. Kate also is truly wise when it ocnes to scripture. She has so much knowledge to share about it, not only to the team but to everyone we minister to. I have learned so much from her and I am so grateful.
Hey Kate-I just really love you a lot. Praise him for putting us on a team together.
Kara:
Getting to know Kate over the last few months has been such a huge. Lessing. I remember meeting her in the Atlanta airport for the first time and knowing we’d be friends instantly. (I have video of her sent to my mom with the caption “look Mom I have a friend.”) The past three days spent in Botswana have been filled with more laughs than I could have ever thought possible. I can confidently say that it is one of the most wise people I know. Her crazy knowledge of the Bible reflects her love for the Lord. Kate is gentle with her words, but is straight forward and honest with the advice i always need. I am so excited to see where the next 7 months leads us and to see Kate continue to grow.
Dakota:
Fun fact: she is always laughing, and she is also on the dream team for going to the grocery store. She is very good at making coffee!
She is very good at praying whether that be over food, people, or anything that is super cool. She is also good with kids.
Matt:
Kate has brought lots of joy and laughter to this team! Is is so enthusiastic and always has a smile on her face. She loves her family and speaks of them often. It is very evident that she loves the Lord. She is often reading her Bible and has even schooled me in using scripture (including making me shave my facial hair. Long story.) Her love for the Lord is astounding!
Zach Yoder:
Kate is often uncontrollably laughing. She possesses a keen sense of smell. A cup of tea is often by her side.
Kate is always joyful and she always has a big smile which quickly captivates and adults alike. She can often be found either serving others or in a deep conversation.
Zach Thayer:
Kate is very talented, I hope you have the opportunity to listen to her play the piano. The way she talks about and from scripture is truly inspiring. She is trustworthy and loves without partiality. She models God’s heart for other everyday.
Noah:
Kate secretly has killer dance moves when Whitney Houston is on. She loves to laugh and can get an entire room laughing effortlessly. Kate also happens to be one of the ksot photogenic people I’ve ever met. Not to mention she comes from Colorado coffee culture which is just a wonderful attribute.
Psalm 1 talks about delighting in the law of the Lord and never have I seen someone embody that the way Kate does. When I see her pouring into scripture and pouring it out into ministry and in every friendship it is a beautiful thing btue way she talks about family has spoken into my own life more than she might ever know.
Josie:
Kate has the best dance moves ever. Even if she is just being silly she goes all out and it’s the absolute best to watch. One night we were hanging out on the front porch of our hosts house in the Dominican republic and Kate decided to turn on some Whitney Houston. I was laughing way too hard to dance after less than a minute as I watched Kate spin around and move her legs at rapid speed and try to moonwalk by me.
Kate is honestly and truly one of the most inspiring people I know. She puts 100% of herself into everything she does, which is hard when you’re living in a new country, doing jobs and activities and ministry that isn’t within any of our comfort zone. It’s encouraging when I feel tired or homesick to look at Kate or have a conversation with her because somehow I always walk away feeling better.
