“Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” – Proverbs 3:5-6
Throughout my life I have consistently questioned what my passions are. I would go through the motions of pleasing others and worked tirelessly to fit in. In the midst of that struggle, I lost my sense of authenticity and I was trying to live by my own standards – rather than the Lord’s. As I slowly began to recognize this about myself, God graciously began to open up spaces where people wanted to know me for who I was. By doing so, I realized something about myself. I am incredibly passionate about loads of things, but above all I am passionate about international missions. In high school, I went on a couple of short-term mission trips that opened my eyes to different cultures and taught me the depth of the love of Jesus – It truly has no limits!! These experiences pushed me towards seeking a faith deeply rooted in the Lord.
This meant abandoning my plan and running towards what God was leading me into. To do this, I was faced with the reality that I needed to begin living in each moment intentionally. Bob Goff once said, “You can do anything for 30 seconds.” And on some days, that reminder of perseverance is what it takes. As I began to pour out my heart to God and think about what this next season would look like, he yet again redirected my steps and led me here. If I’ve learned one thing about the nature of God it is that he is so intentional with our passions and his plans for us are far better than our craziest dreams – even if it doesn’t seem like it at times. Perseverance in prayer is so hard, but so worth it. I promise.
With that being said, I’m so excited and humbled to announce that I will be going to Zambia, Africa this summer through the World Race! God is so gracious and wonderful and it is through him that I have been given this opportunity! Our team will be in Zambia to minister to and meet the needs of those we encounter during our time there. We do not know exactly what that will look like yet, but I am looking forward to sharing this journey with all of you as I step deeper into what I feel the Lord is calling me to in this season!
Thank you so much for taking the time to hear a little bit of where my heart is at so far on this journey! Please be in prayer for myself and our team as we prepare for this trip both financially and spiritually. And again, thank you so much for all the support.
“If the wind goes where you send it, so will I”
Grace + Peace
