i am officially in THAILAND!! we have been here a little over a week and we have about 8 weeks left. let me just walk you through my first week in thailand…

thursday (september 12th) – officially touch down in chiang mai after approximately 72 hours of travel!

friday (september 13th) – woke up in a hostel bed very sick. couldn’t eat anything, slept all the time, could barely move. it was awful.

saturday (september 14th) – still very sick 🙁 but at least i could eat some stuff without throwing up so i got some strength back! even though i was #dying, this was a sweet time for me to really process through what the heck my new life is! i was able to have some alone time with jesus and thank him for everything in my life and he brought so much peace and comfort and clarity.

sunday (september 15th) – SABBOTH!! finally feeling like myself again and what do i do… go and get tattoos. yes, i meant that to be plural. a whole group of us went to a tattoo parlor and got all tatted up.

monday – friday (september 16th – 20th) – ministry started!! for our time in thailand, team orah is teaching english! we’re having a blast! has it been difficult? yes. will it get easier? yes. can the kids understand anything we’re teaching them? no lol. it has been a very humbling experience for me, i’m having to go out of my comfort zone and act like a fool teaching these kiddos. if i had a dollar for everytime i have said the alphabet or sang ‘head, shoulders, knees and toes’ i’d be fully funded (speaking of which, you should donate!!) it has also been a really sweet time for my team and i to bond and get to know each other! i’m super pumped to see how much these kids are gonna learn and see how much closer my team gets!

saturday (september 21st) – adventure day!! my team and the guys team had such a good day! we drove an hour out of the city through the country side to a place called sticky falls, a series of little waterfalls you could climb around on and not slip (except i managed to slip like 4 times) it was so much fun! the best part was the ride in our songtao, which is a little truck type thing with an open back and a covering and some windows, they are my favorite form of transportation. we danced and sung and hung out of the back and the windows, it was exhilarating. on the way back i spent pretty much the whole ride hanging off the back, at one point we turned on some worship music and i looked around at all the rice fields and the mountains and i couldn’t believe it was real, like jesus made this my life for the next nine months and i can’t believe it. this country is so beautiful with so many beautiful people and i am loving it.

sunday (september 22nd) – another sabboth, nothing crazy today. lots of girly things, went shopping, got a mani – peti, took a nap, read the word, it was a sweet day. i felt like i was home and it was a good feeling. yesterday was a rough day, mentally. i was/am feeling super homesick and it’s taking a toll on my attitude and my sleep schedule. this is the first time i’m actually missing home since being here, and yeah we’ve only been here a week so i’m being slightly dramatic but its a big transition.

monday brings a new week, with new challenges. i ask that yall pray for me. pray for my homesickness and my team and our english classes.

thank you everyone for your love and your support!

All my love always
