Hello! Wow it’s been a very long time since I’ve written a blog in India.
My time in India is pretty much over and I said all my hard goodbyes about 2 weeks ago.
While in India, I lived in 3 different villages (just for safety reasons I’m going to come up with nicknames) Seal, Hallmark and Sai Sai.
My favorite of these being Sai Sai.
In Sai Sai we lived with a wonderful family and stayed on a school campus. A lot of our ministry was teaching English and playing games with the kids at the school and the kids who stayed in the hostel on campus. We would lead church together and dance and sing. It was a great time.
This family had 3 amazing kiddos. Emmanuel, Beaulah and Ruth. 3 of the sweetest, funniest, coolest kids I’ve met. I formed a really sweet relationship with the girls. Beaulah is 9, and Ruth is 5. They reminded me a lot of my favorite twins (hey Lex and Avery). Although their ages are different, they had a lot of the same qualities as some of my favorite girls back home! They were playful, silly, so so beautiful, gave the best hugs, laughed a lot. It was so sweet and I’m so thankful that God gave me that piece of home in such a fun and familiar way!
We spent a lot of time together laughing, playing, painting, singing, dancing… they taught me that it doesn’t matter what language you speak, you can show the love of Jesus in so many different ways.
God is so good and so faithful and it’s my privilege to be able to pray for them for the rest of my life. Leaving them was the hardest goodbye so far. My heart breaks thinking I won’t see them again, but it rejoices thinking I’ll see them in heaven one day as my sisters. They will forever hold a special place in my heart and I will never stop praying for them and praying that the seeds we planted will be watered and grow into beautiful flowers.
Something I didn’t expect the world race to have was so many goodbyes. India seemed to be full of hard goodbyes. Goodbyes to locals, to our friends, to our host families. Our time in India has been wild. We’ve done a lot and seen a lot and met a lot of people. And I wouldn’t change it for the world.
Thank you Jesus for all the goodbyes. Thank you for all the seeds planted. Thank you for who you are and that you are pursuing these people as hard as we are.
We leave for Costa Rica March 1st! I ask that you pray for safe travels and that our time in Costa Rica is wonderful and that the seeds planted in India are watered and they grow!
All my love always,
Katie <3
