Hi everyone!
I’m not sure what to write in this post because nothing super interesting has happened so far, but I thought a quick update would be smart. I also want to share what I have been learning through this whole process.
My teammates and I have started talking and connecting with each other through GroupMe, Snapchat and Instagram! Social media really comes in handy especially when we all live thousands of miles apart. It has been so cool getting to know them and hear about all the cool things they are learning through this journey. I can already tell we’re all going to become lifetime best friends and it is so exciting! God works in pretty cool ways. Our team was put together by his will and I can’t wait to see how He uses us this next year!
Something God has revealed to me through this whole process is how good He is. A couple weeks ago, I found myself in a pit. It was terrifying. I was just a mess of emotions and I was stressing about everything. I was stressing over my finals at school, getting all my support letters sent out, FUNDRAISING, people not buying shirts. You name it, I was freaking out about it. One night in the midst of all my stress and worry, I broke down in tears. I was convinced that this wasn’t my calling and that satan was pulling all the strings to make this not possible. Then crazy things started happening! So many people reached out and prayed with me and donated and bought shirts and I had never felt so loved. God really showed Himself to me through my mom, my friends, and my community. I think it is so amazing how God works, He knew everything I was going through and He said “Katelyn, I’ve got this. You’re going to be okay”. It was such a cool moment and I could not be more blessed.
Speaking of fundraising; I have raised $1,100!!! It doesn’t show on my website because it takes a little while to process but I got email confirmations TODAY from so many people who have donated! Wow…God is so good and His generosity is MOVING and GROOVING people!! Thank you x10,000 to everyone who has donated so far!
