What God is up to in Costa Rica

It is sabbath and I have found myself wrapped in my silky black blanket, hanging in a green eno praying to God. With so many memories and experiences God has shown up to I asked him which one he would like me to share this week.

It was the 28th and I found myself working in the kitchen with Mailyn and her mother helping prepare lunch die our team. With very little Spanish in my head I asked how I could help. That lead me to filling noodles with cheese and asking small questions to Mailyn. I found out she was 16 and she started to put to different objects and teach me what they were in Spanish and I said what they were in English. We laughed and bonded over our mispronunciation of words.

During that time Lyd who is on my squad joined us and I got out in charge of mixing up the egg yolks to coat the pasta in. I pretended to juggle three eggs and Mailyn lost it making gestures saying I would drop them and break them all over the floor.

When we were done she gave me her bracelet and took off towards home. A bit later she helped us move cement blocks, and serve alongside us. She also gave me a plastic egg so I could practice juggling it. She also sat and Gave Ashton and I more bracelets. What a sweet beautiful gift.

It was so beautiful to be able to connect with Mailyn despite the language barrier. We all laughed and smiled and felt the love of God surrounding us. Please continue to pray for our relationship and that next week we can dive deeper into our relationship with her and she can understand our relationship with God.
