“The apostles said to the Lord, ‘Increase our faith!’ He replied, ‘If you have faith as small as a mustard seed, you can say to this mulberry tree, Be uprooted and planted in the sea, and it will obey you.”
Luke 17:5-6
Sunday, July 13th, 2014, I was reminded of an important element of faith; the reminder was simply this, the opposite of faith is un-belief.
Yikes. I know. It’s a hard reminder. I’d like to say that its just a slip up, a second of questioning, but what are you questioning?
God’s promises.
Yeah. That hurt. Like, can I please just not have to remember all the times I’ve questioned God’s promises/plans/purposes? That would be easier and more comfortable.
Could I look the other way and ignore my doubt? Please?
Oh yeah, and then the Guest Pastor said, and I quote (I took notes), “If you can’t quit doubting, you are calling God a liar.”
Well….. there’s that.
So, when I questioning/doubting if I can raise $16,243, I am calling God a liar.
The reason I put the verse from Luke 17 at the top of this blog, is because I’m always telling myself I need “more faith”, I just need to trust God “more”. And when I read that scripture I am reminded that all I need is faith the size of a mustard seed.
That’s enough.
Proverbs 18:10 says,
“The name of the Lord is a strong tower. The righteous run to it and are safe.”
Safe from un-belief. Safe from satan’s lies. Safe from doubt.
Our God is SO GOOD. All the time.
Whatever you’re going through, God is our strong tower, our refuge. Don’t start doubting your circumstances, trust Him and His plans.
Trust His PERFECT timing.
This whole World Race thing still overwhelms me. I feel super unprepared.
I am unable to control my circumstances when they’re in my own hands, so I’m handing them over to Jesus. He holds my world in His hands.
Blessings and Love,
Katelyn
