In the first chapter of the book, Lady In Waiting, we are told to put mediocrity behind us. A woman should courageously determine to pursue Jesus with her whole heart, soul, and mind. This is what I strive to do, and as a single woman, this is the perfect moment to establish a radical relationship with Jesus and remove any tokenism from my Christian walk. As I am preparing for the World Race, I am putting all of my trust and faith in Christ. In return, I am drawing nearer to Him and understanding His purpose for my life. I believe He wants me to have a heart like Ruth.
Ruth had just such a determined heart, and the Lord honored her faith to move away from all that was familiar and take a journey toward the completely unknown (pg22). Ruth did not allow her friends, her old surroundings, nor her culture’s dead faith to keep her from running hard after God. She did not use the excuse of a dark past to keep her from a bright future that began with her first critical choice: reckless abandonment to Jesus Christ.
I’m learning that it does not matter what one has done/been through in their past, as long as they bring it to Christ Jesus. The Lord has such beautiful plans for our lives, as long as we put our faith in Him! I am choosing to follow His instruction to recklessly abandon everything that I know and go to 11 different countries for 11 months. When I first came across the World Race, I thought there was no way that I could leave the country, leave my friends and family, and leave my culture for almost a year! I began to pray for God’s guidance on a short term missions trip. Over the next few days, He just kept bringing me back to the Race. I then understood His plan for my life, applied to the WR, was accepted, and now I’m here, preparing for the trip in less than 5 months!
I am choosing to run to God by accepting His calling for me to missions!!
Please pray/support me while I am striving for a servant’s heart. Pray for my team and pray that their hearts are humbled as well. Pray that we all can raise the money to go to the field and please pray for safety as we recklessly abandon our homes, friends, family, culture, and so much more.
Know that we are praying for YOU in return!
