Hey Everyone! It’s been awhile again, we’ve been very busy with lots of schedule changes and our ministry has pretty much wrapped up by now. I am sad that it is over but being able to take a moment to reflect on the past three months has been such a gift. I didn’t really elaborate much on what we did in Ratchaburi, Thailand but it was an amazing two months.
After the week in the Karen village and the few days at the Juvenile Detention Center, we spent the majority of our time running english camps at local schools. We were at two different schools for about three weeks. The first school we went to we had the same kids everyday and we built some pretty incredible relationships in such a short time. I was constantly reminded how good God is and it was such a blessing to hang out with those young students. Not to mention the delicious lunches we were served every day, that Thai food was on another level. One day we were able to take all the kids on a ‘field trip’. We went to the local museum and they were sent on a massive scavenger hunt. It was such a hot day and by the end we were all covered from head to toe in sweat but it was so worth it. All the smiles and laughter that day is definitely something to be cherished.
We were at the second school for a total of nine days and each day we had a new age group. We had every grade from 1st- 9th and it was such a fun experience. We played lots of games that incorporated English and sang countless songs. Baby Shark, The Cup Song and Count On Me will forever remain engraved in my mind. It was awesome being able to see so many beautiful faces every day. We had almost 200 first graders one day; it was for sure a chaotic experience but so much fun at the same time.
Ending school ministry was hard because my team and I loved all the kids. But it had to come to an end eventually and I think it was good practice for having to say goodbye to Thailand as a whole (I am NOT looking forward to that).
