Hello everyone, happy Fall!
As you may know, I just graduated from high school and have decided to take a year off before going back to school. I will be going on a 3 month long mission trip through Adventures in Missions. Adventures in Missions is a non-profit missions organization that sends groups of young adults to different countries around the world to serve communities in various ways. I am very excited to serve with them! I will be joining a group going to Thailand and Cambodia from January 24 to April 29 of 2019. We will be serving in Thailand for the first half of the trip and in Cambodia for the second half. While overseas, my team will be doing various ministry work. Teaching English to refugees, working in orphanages, encouraging local churches and believers, and bringing hope to those trapped in oppressive cycles of poverty and human trafficking are some of the ways we will be serving the local community.
Many years ago, I believe God called me to serve Him overseas. I scoured different websites searching for a trip that suited me but never seemed to find one. Finally, a couple months ago, I found this trip through Adventures in Missions. After reading about it, I immediately knew this was the program I wanted to serve with. I desire to serve the Lord and show people the love of Jesus. I am excited to grow in my relationship with God and develop meaningful, Christ-centered friendships. Hopefully, by the end of this trip, I will have learned more about the cultures of Southeast Asia and been challenged to trust God more.
