“Ecclesiastes assures us… that there is a time for every purpose under heaven. A time to laugh… and a time to weep. A time to mourn… and there is a time to dance. And there was a time for this law, but not anymore. See, this is our time to dance. It is our way of celebrating life. It’s the way it was in the beginning. It’s the way it’s always been. It’s the way it should be now.”
From when I was 3 years old, I’ve been in dance classes. Dance has been a huge part of my identity. I’ve danced, taught, and choreographed all the way through high school. It was hard for me to “leave dance” and go on the Race.
Speaking of the race, I leave my Raleigh home TO.MORROW. whoah. I’m a little stressed, a little excited, and a little ready. This week has been full of family, packing, and… dance parties. I’ve been dancing a lot, usually to One Direction. I’m not a big dance party person. It’s a fact that dancers don’t like “normal dancing.” We can’t do it because we’re too in our heads about how we should be dancing and what we look like.
But, my friends, times have changed. The time for being in my head has passed. The time for holding back has passed. It’s time to be brave. It’s time to be bold. It’s time to dance. It’s time for the World Race.
Love,
Kate
