GREAT NEWS! I’VE GOT GREAT NEWS!!

This past year has been a whirlwind of changes and transitions. I left the WR gap year, a lifelong dream of mine, after I felt God telling me to go to college. Leaving Gap Year was a VERY hard decision for me because it’s literally something i’ve dreamed about since my freshman year of highschool!!! I’m writing to you now to give an update on what God’s recently done in my life and honestly, what’s next!

Right after I decided to leave Gap Year, I spent weeks in tears. Was this the right move? Was the calling I felt to go on the WR fake? I’m not even in the colleges/programs I want, what if i’m leaving it all for nothing?

These questions haunted me at night.

It would be easier to stay on the WR and fight the feelings/words I had heard from the Lord. But, I knew in my heart it was right for me to go. & let me clarify: it was RIGHT for me to go, it wasn’t EASY for me to go! I didn’t WANT to go! Nevertheless, I left with (tbh) little trust that something good has got to come out this dramatic shift. Within a week, I received multiple scholarships and acceptances to colleges. I got into my DREAM program and was received to play DIII lacrosse. I was B L O W N away. All the pieces just fell into place. All of the long nights of praying and worrying were worth it. God had a plan all along! He knew exactly where I was, where I needed to be, and where He was taking me next.

So what’s next? What happened to all the fundraising money?

When I left Gap Year, I had $5,700 raised. While Gap Year wasn’t for me, I’ve planned on using this money for a summer mission trip! Originally, I planned on going on a one-week mission trip, but after lots of transitions and prayers – Im going on a ~fully funded~ month long trip! Where you may ask??

G U A T E M A L A !!! I’ll be spending the entire month of July in Antigua, Guatemala at the Adventures in Missions base. My team and I will be working with children, in schools, and on the streets to build relationships and share the gospel. We’ll also be partnering with local pastors and churches to install stoves and water filters in villages. I’m so excited to spend this summer serving with a new ministry and learning about a new culture. I’ll be blogging on this page throughout the trip so subscribe ( or re-subscribe cause it all got deleted :/ ) to keep up with me!

I had very strong ideas of what this summer would look like: working, small family trips, orientations, and a short mission trip. But, God shifted things (SHOCKER hahaha) and doors closed that lead to new ones! He has been SO faithful throughout this entire process and I know He’s got big ole plans for me in Guatemala and at college this fall.

peace & blessings,
