at the beginning of our trip, our whole team discussed what our theme would be for the month. we all felt the lord leading us to the word love. god also spoke to me at training camp telling me to love his children this month. so i said, okay god! and he provided!
here’s some of the kiddos i’ve got to love on this month. meet the amigos!
j– the oldest of the group and full of love and humor. he is wise, funny, and loves to learn english. business is business in his book and no one can tell him different!
e- my girl. she cares for the ones around her and is charismatic! she loves to dance and will always be my bailar buddy.
t- a little bit crazy but truthfully dedicated to his family. he’s a helper and still loves to goof around. my scrunchie provider.
r- will always have a special bond with this one. while he can be rough sometimes, all he wants is love. there’s endless hugs&smiles when i’m with him and i wouldn’t want it any other way.
one struggle i’ve had this month is discouragement. i’ve felt like i’m not doing enough or not bringing the kingdom because there’s little results. but man am i wrong! our ministry here is to solely love on people. to show them Christ’s love through a meal, a conversation, an english lesson, a game, or even just wandering through the markets. we may not see instant results but god is so prevalent. he calls us to just love people as they are and to meet where there at. nothing else. ministry isn’t just crazy impactful moments. it’s carrying jesus love with transparency and sharing it through every action and word we produce.
it’s been an honor to love on these kids and their sweet family. god is raising up a new generation of hope and truth here in guatemala. what an amazing experience it’s been to catch a glimpse of his provision and guat’s future leaders. we’ve seen healings, prayers be answered, and hearts changed through a simple hug and that’s just the surface! these kids are world changers, && god is gonna move big ole mountains through them. they are bright, loving, and radiate peace.here’s to you my sweet amigos!
