1. God is with me every step of the way. On the best days and the worst, God is by my side guiding me. He is constant and so faithful.
  2. I will not always see the fruit of the ministry I do. I may not see the people I meet come to Christ, but I can leave knowing I have showed them the love of Jesus and planted seeds in their life. It may take six people to share the Gospel with them to say ‘yes’ to Jesus, I just need to do my part- God’s got it under control.
  3. Be present. It’s easy to be focused on what’s next, but God is doing so much right now and wants us to be a part of it.
  4. KFC and Starbucks have the best WiFi in town. On our off days, you can find us here: writing blogs and catching up with family and friends back home.
  5. I am meant to be here. I have been called here and there is no doubt in my mind, I am here for a reason.
  6. Slow down.  It’s easy to be focused on your own to-do list and be in a rush. By slowing down, God opens our eyes to see all the beauty around us. Acts of kindness. Children laughing. Nature’s endless beauty. God is everywhere, we just have to slow down and look around.
  7. Healing prayer is real. Prayer is so powerful. Never underestimate it’s power.
  8. Lost luggage is a blessing. On our way to Romania, all our bags were left in Amsterdam, which ended up being best case scenario- we no longer needed to bring our 50 pound packs on the 3 hour train ride to Craiova.
  9. Romanian Netflix is way better than the States. Sorry, mom. I’m binge watching season 2 of Good Girls. Don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you.
  10. I am worthy. The creator of the Universe created me in His perfect image. I did not earn my worth, but through the grace of God, I am worthy.
  11. My squad mates are some of the best people you’ll ever meet. I am beyond blessed to wake up every morning surrounded by 29 people who love God.
  12. Possessions are meaningless. I have seen people who have next to nothing have such joy. Life is not about what you have, but more about how you love.
  13. I am not in control of my life. Want to make God laugh? Tell him your plan. Living in Romania was never a part of my plan, but He knew I would be here. His plan doesn’t always make sense, but it is perfect. God has full control of my life and will lead me to places I never thought I’d be.
  14. X-squad parents are the best. We love you. Thank you for the prayers, words of encouragement, and loving us so well.
  15. Ministry isn’t a set time. Yes, I am on a mission trip, but mission is a lifestyle. Ministry can happen any time and anywhere.
  16. Rest is important. We are called to rest. Jesus isn’t impressed by how much we can do for Him. He wants us to slow down and spend time with Him.
  17. Homesickness is hard, but I’ve found home in Jesus. I’m 5,167 miles away from home. I miss my friends, family, and the comforts of home. But Jesus provides ultimate comfort and peace.

Psalm 119:76 May your unfailing love be my comfort, according to your promise to your servant.

  18. My story is worth sharing. My successes and struggles are worth sharing. My story has the power to impact people’s lives forever. After all, it is a story written by God. A story full of redemption.
  19. You don’t need to speak the same language to be friends. Hand gestures can be used to communicate and smiling is universal. Children in the Roma village also find it quite funny to hear us try to speak their language.
  20. Empathy is powerful. Being a Christian doesn’t get rid of all your struggles. But my pain doesn’t have to go to waste. God will use it to bring hope to people going through what I have been through.
