There’s nothing like the joy of receiving a real letter or package in the mail. You know, that moment when you open your mailbox, flip through the envelopes, and see a hand written address or an envelope that’s not the standard size for a bill. That’s how I know it’s gonna be good mail day! A little note from someone I love makes my smile bigger, my heart a little lighter, and my day a bit brighter.

I’ve never been away from home for more than a few weeks, and in 6 weeks, I launch on the World Race. For 11 months, communicating home will be limited and receiving real mail will be impossible. Inevitably, I’ll experience moments where I miss my family, friends, and comforts of home.

But I have this really fun idea for those moments, and I need your help! Would you consider sending me some snail mail? I’d love to carry letters, drawings, pictures, jokes, or funny stories along with me in my pack. When I need a little comfort, I can read a note from you and feel lighter, brighter, and closer to home.

On your envelope, tell me when you’d like me to open the letter
(and sign your name so I know who it’s from).

Here are some ideas to get you started

  1. Open me in (and name a country that I’m visiting on my route)
  2. Open me in (and name a month of my journey)
  3. Open me when you need a good laugh
  4. Open me when you need to smile
  5. Open me on a long travel day
  6. Open me if you have the thought “I want to go home”
  7. Open me when you need a friend
  8. Open me when you (you get the idea, be as creative as you want!)

(So, some of the examples are a little cheesy…just ignore those!
Otherwise, these examples are pretty good…thanks to Pinterest!)

What do you think? Will you help me?

Love, Love, Love
Kate

PS…Please send your letters to me by December 19th (message me if you need my address!)
