Break. Pause. Respite.
Interruption. Hold. Hiatus.
Gap. Time-out. Breather.
Quiet. Rest. Peace.
Intermission.
When I signed up for the Race last March, when I arrived at training camp in October, when I left the country to begin the World Race in January, never once did I imagine month 5 at home in Wichita, KS.
But, here I am. Four months and 2 weeks of my World Race complete, and I’m sitting by the fire, drinking tea, and writing my blog rather than sifting through the earthquake rubble in Nepal with my friends.
With all my heart, I want to be with my P Squad family. I see them, in the midst of the devastation, smiling, crying, cracking jokes, praying without ceasing, and bringing food, water and the hope of Jesus Christ after all these earthquakes. The joy of the Lord is their strength. (Check out their blogs, God’s teaching them so much these days and it’s beautiful!)
I miss my friends and pray for them everyday, but I also rest in God’s peace knowing that I’m right where He wants me.
Everyday, I feel stronger, less stiff, and more and more like myself. I didn’t realize I needed this respite, until it was here. I knew God wanted May to be my month of rest, and so He really brought me into a place for true rest…home. While I never expected an intermission in the middle of my World Race, God knew it was necessary. With my fractured middle finger and healing spine, God brought me home where healing comes easily and rest without effort. I am thankful.
“O LORD my God, I cried out to You, And You healed me.” Psalms 30:2
“Then your light shall break forth like the morning, Your healing shall spring forth speedily, And your righteousness shall go before you; The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.” Isaiah 58:8
I’ll stay in Kansas for 2 more weeks before I set out to meet my squad in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Until then, will you join me in prayer?
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
“And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
Prayer Requests:
- Pray for P squad’s safety and protection while serving in Nepal. That God’s Word is magnified, and the hope of Jesus Christ sheds light throughout this nation. Pray that they hear God’s voice so clearly, and that they obey as He shows them where to go and who to help.
- Pray for Vanessa, and God’s perfect healing in her body. Pray that the Lord speaks to her, comforts her, and surrounds her with His peace and love.
- Pray for God’s provision, and a sweet time of healing and rest. With my trip home and back to the squad in Malaysia, that’s an additional unexpected $3000. Please pray about continuing to support me financially. If you feel God leading you to help, you can send support to me at my home in Kansas. (1643 S Logan Pass, Andover, KS 67002).
Love, Love, Love
