Hello from Atlanta!

Launch begins in 4 hours. It’s hard to believe that my journey to the World Race began 10 months ago. At times, I thought this day might never arrive. But now that Launch is upon me, it feels so unreal. All that dreaming, praying, preparing and now it’s time to go!

I spent my last week in Wichita ensconced in packing. How in the world do you fit eleven months worth of clothes and supplies into 2 bags? Well, I read this blog, and this blog, and this blog. I made a pinterest board all about the World Race. And after all that, I made list, after list, after list. Hand written lists, typed lists, iPhone shopping lists…I starred, scratched through, and highlighted important items as I compiled all the best information from my research. Oh and most importantly, I prayed! I asked for God’s wisdom as I shopped and decided what to bring in my bags. Some may call me an over planner. Maybe it’s the teacher in me. What can I say, I like to be prepared!

After all that prepping, I needed to find a home for everything inside my pack. Seriously, how was that supposed to happen?

So, I prayed. I asked God for a little help. Help to see how this packing puzzle fit together.

Well, after some pack wrestling…and some more praying…and asking my Mom to sit on the pack…IT ALL FIT and only weighed 40lbs!

In the midst of all that physical packing, God asked me about my emotional and spiritual packing. “Kate, what are you bringing in your heart and your spirit? Did you make a list for that? Any baggage you’re leaving behind?”

And that’s what got me thinking…I’m leaving behind fear, doubt, worry, selfishness, sickness, hurt from past mistakes, unworthiness, guilt, shame, pride, and lies from the enemy. I’m lightening my load and won’t be weighed down!

Instead, I’m packing God’s promises to me…

  • He’s given me a spirit of power, love, and a sound mind. (1 Timothy 1:7)
  • His great works will go exceeding abundantly above what I ask or think. (Ephesians 3:20)
  • Joy is mine and the signature of my team. God will fill us with joy and peace, abounding in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13)
  • He will meet my needs, as I walk in love caring for others. (1 Corinthians 13:3-8 & 1John 4:7-11)
  • I have been called to such a time as this. (Esther)
  • I am completely, absolutely, complete in Christ. (Colossians 2:10)
  • I am strong and bold and confident because Christ gives me that strength. (Philippians 3:16)
  • I will grow in grace and wisdom. (2 Peter 3:18)
  • I am protected from sickness and disease. (Exodus 23:25 & 1 Peter 2:17)
  • God’s got all the answers.  All I need to do is trust Him and ask for help. (Proverbs 3: 5-6 & Philippians 4:6-7)
  • I am favored and He loves me. (Proverbs 3: 3-4 & Proverbs 8:17)

My bags are packed. My farewells are said.

Now, it’s time to join P Squad and Team Joyous Light.

Now, it’s time to launch.

God’s gone before us to prepare our way. We are His ambassadors, His representations of Christ bringing joy, light, and love to the World. May God’s mighty works be done in the name of Jesus Christ.

Thank you for your love and prayers. It’s finally time. I go joyfully to follow my Father’s will!

Love, Love, Love
Kate
