Sometime ago, I spent a summer living in Tanzania, Africa. When I returned home, my Dad introduced me to someone new. Her first words to me will stick with me forever. She walks over to me, extends her hand and says,
"Wow! You have beautiful feet!"
I quickly looked down to see what shoes I was wearing, but really just looking for what she might have seen which spurred her on to say such a comment. I didn't see anything out of the normal so when I regained eye contact with her, my thoughts were anything but understanding what she could possibly mean. I think she could read my confusion off of my facial expression because she explained…
How beautiful on the mountains
are the feet of those who bring good news,
who proclaim peace,
who bring good tidings,
who proclaim salvation,
who say to Zion,
“Your God reigns!”Isaiah 52:7
So her one comment that surprised me became the most encouraging, desired complement I have ever received. This verse has become a life verse for me that I want to walk out everyday. I would rather have someone say "How beautiful are you feet!" 100 times than someone complement anything else! I took this year to document this verse all over the world! Enjoy!
