This time next year, will I be me?

This time next year, will I remember where I have been?
This time next year, will I even be home?

Are the days I am living now going to matter in a year?
Are the memories I am making today going to stick around for tomorrow?
Are the places I am traveling through going to be more than just a stamp?

Halloween in Haiti
Thanksgiving in Thailand
Christmas in Malaysia
And New Years in Cambodia
Will this just be an experience or a new perspective?

Isn’t it more about the “who” then the “where”?
Isn’t it more about the “why” then the “what”?
Isn’t it more about God then, well, anything else?

This time next year, I will be changed.
This time next year, I will be different.

I will change where I find my identity.
Not in people, but in God.
I will change how I look at myself.
Not worthless, but worth dying for.
I will change when I give God the control.
Not just when I need his help, but when I wake up in the morning.

I will be different with how I use my words.
My words will build up, not tear down.
I will be different with how I treat others.
My actions will love unconditionally, not hurt permanently.
I will be different with how I love my God.
My love will be growing exponentially, not stagnantly stopping.

But this time next year,  I will be Kate. Still.
I will be Kate in how I love fully, and love genuinely.
I will be Kate in how I live out my character as a princess of the Kingdom.
I will be Kate in how I laugh with the ups and downs of life.

Will 11 months bring me to 1 home?
Will 11 countries allow me to see 1 God?
Will 11 languages speak to me about 1 truth?

Who knows…but I do know this…
I am and will be Kathleen Dawn Nixon.
Pure.
Break of Day.
Daughter of the King.

That King. My King, will lead me through 11 months
That King, My King will walk with me through 11 months.
That King, My King will shape me into a pure, shining, break of light into 11 countries.

“The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn, shining ever so brighter till the full light of day.” Proverbs 4:18

Happy New Year from Cambodia! Happy 2013! May God's Glory be known this year!
