Dear Race Friends, New Family, Readers, Fellow Brothers and Sisters,

         I wanted to share with you some words from my Dad; A well written note about… well…God.

"Last week we were invited to dinner with friends, who are all frequent guests at Solid Grounds and have adopted us as their friends. (See the attached picture.)

I was blessed beyond belief when we walked into their home and they served us with great respect and honor. Sometimes the language barrier was evident but a universal smile always showed through as we laughed about our communication. They wanted us to experience their hospitality and get to know us better.

We played a fun Saudi card game where you had to guess who around the table had a Joker in their hand. Playing this game required each player sitting around the table to look deeply into each person's eyes to catch a wink or slight gesture indicating they had the Joker. In each round, the last person who didn't know or couldn't guess who had the Joker had to sit out the rest of the game.

What an interesting game this was and how I loved looking deeply into their eyes to connect with them in this very personal way. I sure hope the feeling was mutual.

Two days later this scene was repeated again with the Saudi women who also frequent Solid Grounds. They met together in their nearby home, free from prying eyes and without head covers. Again, I think everyone was blessed for their willingness to connect in a personal way, desiring only to know each other more deeply.

Aslan is on the move! Have a blessed and wonderful day."

Now, let me just point out my favorite part. The sentence, "Aslan is on the move!" This is a reference to the "Narnia" movies/books. The author, C.S. Lewis, describes this character in the series as an alternative version of Christ. The character parallels Christ multiple times throughout the series with a sacrifice and resurrection, among other things. What I love most about this is that it is true. Aslan IS on the move. Aslan- our Christ and Lord-is dwelling among us. Just like in the series, Aslan came and went as the plot line grew into much more than 3 kids getting lost in a wardrobe. At the end of The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe,  Aslan crowns the four children as Kings and Queens of Narnia, and during the celebration he quietly slipped away. The children said nothing about it because Mr. Beaver, another character,  had warned them, "…one day you'll see him and another you won't", foreshadowing Aslan's role in the books to follow. However, this will not just explain the books. Our Aslan- Christ- dwells with us in spirit wherever we go, don't get me wrong, but there are those moments where He is definitely right there with us. He fills the room, he uses our words for his purposes, he warms our hearts, and he is present.

This dinner that my Dad wrote about was a moment just like this. Our God was present and presently working. I believe full well that as I look at these moments I have been through, I know there is more to the character Aslan. Looking at that phrase again, "Aslan IS ON THE MOVE!" Why does it jump off the page at me? (other than my use of capitol letters :))

Here is it… Revelation 22: 12-13 “Look, I am coming soon! My reward is with me, and I will give to each person according to what they have done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End."

It has been written. Aslan is on the move. He is coming soon. Our reward is with Him. If he is moving, and he has our reward; then that should mean we would want Him moving so as to receive our reward. He is the Beginning and the End. Aslan- Our Christ Savior- is coming soon, which should make us feel a little….worried.

You might be thinking…WORRIED?? Why worried?!? We should be worried about the coming of Christ because we need to ask ourselves…"Have I shared my everlasting life with those who do not have it yet? Have I told enough people about the love that saved them from the bonds of Hell? Am I done speaking truth to the lost, seeking light with the hidden, fighting for salvation for others?" This is why we should worry, because I can answer those questions for myself. The answer is…NO.

It is not about our fear of Christ's return, but rather a burden on our hearts to save the lost, to bring out the light, to seek the truth, to block out Satan, to fight for Eternal Life. Have we done it all? Is the fight over? No.

Aslan is on the move.

We are not in this on our own. It is overwhelming, and worrying, but we stand in the power of Christ. Revelation 1:8 says, "I am the Alpha and Omega,' says the Lord God, 'who is, and who was, and who is to come, the Almighty." Aslan is and was and has yet to come.

Aslan is on the move.
Aslan=Christ
IS=Present (Past and Future)
Move= Our Reward.

Do some "word math".  Switch out the words….

Aslan is on the move = Christ present is our reward

Let us rejoice in this:

Aslan is on the move.

Let us seek to make this happen everyday:

Aslan is on the move.

Let us see this as a charge to join in with our sweet Aslan.  Join in with the Lion of Judah (Rev 5:5). Watch to see how we, not just World Racers but the Body of Christ, will be used as He Moves!

Let us be your hands and feet, Aslan! Isaiah 52:7, "How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'Your God reigns!'"
