Dear friends and family,
This past year was a HUGE growing year for me and I’m so thankful and blessed to have supportive parents who are always willing to let me follow my heart. After graduating from high school in May of 2013, I decided to stay home in the fall and improve my photography business. I have been working with a Broadcasting class at the middle school two days a week, interning with a local photographer one day a week, doing senior and family photo shoots, and a lot of babysitting and dog sitting. I also attended an Imaging Conference in Phoenix in January 2014 and I will be attending a photography school in Dallas in May. I believe that everyone has their own beautiful, personal story and I like to capture that in my photography. I’ve got some huge news for you guys… Are you ready??? I am going on the World Race Gap Year Mission in September of 2014 and I am WAY EXCITED for my journey to begin! I have a HUGE passion for caring for those less fortunate than me and touching others with kindness. This is something I have felt called to do since I was in eighth grade. I was attending Pine Cove Christian Camp in Tyler, Texas that summer when I realized my calling to serve. For the first time in my life I felt a strong connection to the Lord and realized that my purpose here on Earth was to share my love with others. I have served on missions in Gonzalez, Texas and in Joplin, Mo. following the tornado. Both experiences were life changing. I am truly blown away to have this opportunity to serve outside the U.S., and I CAN’T WAIT to get out there and share my light. Starting in September, I will be traveling for nine months to three different regions of the world… Central America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Our primary focus on this Christian mission trip will be to serve in outreach programs for our world’s youth, the elderly, needy families, and women in need. We will also be spreading the gospel and sharing the love of Christ as we work with local partners to build up churches and Bible schools. I feel beyond blessed to have this opportunity and I hope that I can somehow make a difference in this world. I would like to ask you to pray for me while I am on my mission and for my family because I know they will really miss me. Now, I must start my fundraising for the trip!
