As I wrote about before, the last few weeks in Siem Reap were spiritually difficult. We were pouring so much in and not seeing results, but we learned that it is a privilege to be used by God to plant seeds.
We are now in Poipet, Cambodia, a smaller town on the Thai border. It’s safe to say we aren’t in Siem Reap anymore. There are little to no tourists, we pack into a van to go anywhere, and we eat at least one meal a day at the casino nearby. On Sunday, five of us went to a couple villages about an hour outside of the city with a Pilipino missionary named Jen and a YWAM team of two Australians and two Paraguayans. It had rained the night before, so we were walking through some seriously thick mud. I started carrying a stick with me to wipe off the mud because my chacos would get so heavy. In the first village, we helped with a children’s Sunday school class teaching the story of Zacchaeus, singing songs, and playing games. My heart overflowed with joy as we all sang, “My God is so BIG, so strong and so mighty, there’s nothing my God cannot do!” I have sung that song since I was little, but it is really starting to sink in.
We moved on to the next village where we were planning to do the same sort of thing, but the people were all at a school party. Jen had met a woman there who was taking care of four young children alone because her husband and parents had passed away, and she had recently accepted Christ into her heart. We visited with her for a bit before she told us that she was sharing her testimony with one of her friends who also wanted to believe in Him. We trekked through the mud to the woman friend’s house.
We sat in her bamboo stick home and explained the Gospel of Jesus Christ to her as she held her two day old child. We told her that God’s love for her cannot be explained, that he knows her by her name, and that things will be hard on this earth but those who believe in Him and walk in faithfulness with be made whole and perfect in heaven. We prayed for her, and as far as we know she accepted Christ as her Savior. I could not stop smiling the whole walk back to the van. I fell asleep on the way home and was told that I was still smiling. To say it was amazing is an understatement. The whole experience refreshed my soul. The thing is, I didn’t do any of the work. There were faithful people before me who worked hard day in and day out to plant seeds. I was able to come along and experience the fruits of their labor.
Isn’t it crazy how The Lord brings things full circle like that?

We leave Cambodia on Friday for Thailand! We will be in Bangkok for a week before my team heads to Tak Fa. Be in prayer for the Kingdom of Thailand as they continue to mourn the loss of their king. The people of Thailand loved their king so deeply. It will be a unique opportunity to explain to them that there is a King in Heaven even greater, one who loves and cares for them even more than their earthly king did.
Also,I am fully funded! Thank you so much to everyone for your support! I truly cannot express how thankful I am! I have already learned and grown so much, and it’s only been a month!
