I love India! India has taught me how to pray. India has taught me what it means to worship. India has taught me what a heart on fire for the Lord looks like. India has taught me that there truly is nothing impossible for Him who believes in JESUS. India has taught me where obedience can lead and how many lives you can change by faithfully following a vision that God has placed in your heart. This whole place got started because a man had a vision of God crying for this state, and he dropped everything and now millions of lives have been changed for eternity, and God has been doing all the work through His faithful children!!! It is amazing everything that God is doing here, most days I just stand in awe of it all.
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”

God has shown me what it looks like to be His comforting arms this month, His comforting hands, comforting gaze, comforting song, and comforting words. To hold the hand and cry with a mother who has just lost her eldest teenage son to cancer, to hold a weeping young girl while singing amazing grace to her after she had lost her best friend, to walk with a girl with polio who has just gotten a tighter caliber and is in so much pain with a look of despair in her eyes, to look into a lonely dad’s eyes with compassion as he sits at his sons hospital bed day in and day out, to look into a young girls eyes and tell her that she is not lame as she says but that she is a beautiful child of GOD, to sit with a widowed woman in her house and laugh and drink tea with her…
As a follower of Christ our words and our actions can change lives. We have a choice to bring life, comfort, and joy wherever we go. We have a choice to change an environment completely by what we carry with us, by bringing the FRUITS of the spirit (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and self control) everywhere we go. We have opportunities everyday to open people’s thirsty eyes to the well of water that is right in front of them!
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate, our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light NOT our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are ALL meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us it’s in EVERYONE. And as we let our own light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. “

As I walk around day by day (forgetting about the people staring because I am probably the tallest girl they have ever seen, not to mention my skin is white and there is a whole lot of it showing compared to all the other woman around here) I push back the fears and other voices and my head, and I choose to walk in the light. I will fight to bring light, I will fight for joy, because this is one of the greatest weapons that my God has given to me, it is mine and I will not let it be taken. I will fight to bring Joy, Comfort, Life, and LOVE to those around me because my God has brought it to me first. Praise the Lord: JAMAZEEKIE!!! Pray for India, pray for GEMS (the ministry that we are with this month), pray for LIFE to break out here, pray for people to enter into life to the FULL, a life of being perfectly LOVED by their Creator, pray that my team and I will choose to live in this Love and give it away to the beautiful Indian people around us!
