He's working hard in a room behind a glass wall.  You can't see through the glass He's working behind unless He's given you the eyes to see past it.  As He's working His light begins to shine brighter and brighter.  The room is radiating with His holy presence.  But those standing outside can't see Him or the work He's accomplished back there.  Even if they know He's there and know He's working, they're desperate to see what He's doing; struggling with doubt, unbelief, jealousy, and insecurities in what they assume to be His absence.  But He's there.  Working without ceasing.

As our lives move forward the glass wall begins to crack.  One crack leads to another and soon the glass is destroyed in a spectacular spiderweb of brokenness.  Through the fragile maze of fractured glass, light begins to peek through.  The more cracks, the more light that bursts out in place of the holes left by the weak and destructible wall.  The light is unbreakable though.  The light is eternal.  The light is love.  The broken glass can never be put back together, but with the beauty that now radiates through it's spaces, who would ever want it to?

This is the life we want.  This is the life our hearts desire.  This is the life we're calling out to You for.

Last week, I thanked The Lord for what He'd done this month in Guatemala.  I also began to pray over what He's preparing for us in our next two Central American countries.  The above was the vision He gave to me.

To sum up our time in Quiche, I'd say it was comfortable.  Yes, we slept in tents, got soaking wet from rainy season down pours, ate questionable street food, adjusted to life in community, and took the chicken bus through windy mountain roads.  We spent long days painting the orphanage and church, and sat through late nights taking in the teachings of our squad leaders, mentors, and parents.  We even had 3 nights of "post secret" sessions where we got into the nitty gritty of each others hearts, pushing pride aside and letting vulnerability rule the night.  But still, overall, it was comfortable.  I'd be willing to say that unless you asked The Lord to give you eyes to see, you'd have missed all but a few glimpses of what really happened here this month as we slaved with desire to bring His kingdom to Quiche.

We leave Quiche, Guatemala on Tuesday (7/30) and head to Antigua, Guatemala for the night.  From there, we'll leave for our new ministry site in Tegucigalpa, Honduras and arrive there on Wednesday.  The life and work being prepared for us in the coming months will be anything but comfortable.  It will challenge our thoughts and lifestyles, break our hearts and pierce our souls, destroy doubt and renew faith; but most exciting of all, it will bring the brightest, most undeniable, of lights into the darkest depths of this earth.

Please be praying for Team Tikkun Olam and S Squad as we follow the God of Angel Armies from Guatemala to Honduras.

"God-of-the-Angel-Armies will step in and take care of His flock, the people of Judah.  He'll revive their spirits, make them proud to be on God's side.  God will use them in his work of rebuilding, use them as foundations and pillars, use them as tools and instruments, use them to oversee his work.  They'll be a workforce to be proud of, working as one, their heads held high, striding through swamps and mud, courageous and vigorous because God is with them, undeterred by the world's thugs."
