1) I spent much time in the kitchen this month, learning to make many different dishes with our cook, Mamatha, and teammate, Sara. We had dance parties, singing sessions, and heart to hearts as we prepped and taste tested many meals.
2) The beautiful people! Man, India has a lot of those
3) Rockin the middle part all month.
4) Laughter that came from the uncomfortable and ever increasing mountain of food continually scooped on our plates during house visits.
5) The time Jordan and I pushed our bunk beds together and slept on the top bunk…and kept them like that all month.
6) Singing, “you are my sunshine” daily to our contact, Ravi, who’s name means “Sun.” He really was great sunshine to our lives this month.
7) Valentine’s day pancakes, notes, scavenger hunts, team ice cream bowls, and lots of love to share.
8) My overnight bus ride to parents week with Jake where I got to learn of all kinds of trouble he got in as a kid, told bedtime stories, and got swayed side to side throughout the night as the bus fiercely whipped around curvy roads.
9) Making signs and waking up extra early to pick up Jake’s mom and Zack’s dad at the Hyderabad airport. Their flight came a day late from delays so we had to pick them up separately. I was lucky enough to come along for the adventure as the photographer.
10) Meeting Abhi.
11) Reuniting with S Squad at the end of the month. Catching up with my S family is always an adventure. It’s incredibly how my love for them grows each month even as we only spend the very end and very beginning of each month together. They really are just that great 🙂
