This month God has been teaching me a lot about himself. This blog is an attempt at summarizing what he has revealed to me.

God is multi- dimensional. There are numerous aspects of God. I have just barely begun to dig past the surface. To be honest, one of the concepts I have never really grasped is the concept of the trinity – how can one being be three beings at the same time? It seems impossible, and uncomprehendable. Its one of the things that makes God so difficult to understand and even harder to put into words because when I talk about God or Jesus, I am really just talking about a different side of the same being. In all honesty this is a concept I am not sure I will ever fully grasp, but nonetheless God has been patiently walking me through it. He has taken me back to the basics and walked me through creation and the story of His son.

Through it I have learned that Jesus (Who is God in human form walking on earth) has been apart of the plan from the beginning. God knew that in a broken world we would never be able to live a perfect life. So God humbled himself by taking on the appearance of man. He didn’t come to earth and exert His divine power, but to show us what it means to walk in relation with God (a heavenly being) daily. He gave us Jesus so that we might understand his desire for a relationship with us. The creator desires to know his creation intimately. Throughout his ministry on earth, Jesus does not rely on his own power, but instead humbles himself and relies on God. Because of Jesus’ death on the cross we no longer have to give burnt offerings as attempt to earn God’s grace and mercy. He came down to earth as the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. We can not earn our way into Heaven, because the way has already been freely given. It has already been accomplished.

But although it is freely given does not mean that we automatically receive or accept it. When God left earth physically (Jesus died on the cross), he did not abandon us but instead gave us the spirit to live within us. But just because the spirit is in us does not mean that we are going to live a flawless life. We must continually seek a relationship with God and Jesus. It takes discipline. It is not immediate or permanent. It will take a lifetime. We will strive to live for him, but even then there will be moments when we fail. But even in our continual failure they (God, Jesus, and The Spirit) pursue us. They are with us through it all. Constantly working in us and through us. Since they are in us (through The Spirit) we have power in them and in the name of Jesus to do God’s work here on earth. Like Jesus we can strive to walk with God daily. We can proclaim the Good News to others. And through them (Jesus and the Spirit) we have access to heavenly power that we can use to accomplish God’s will. The truth of the matter is we are predestined for a life with God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. God created us in his image. He desires to walk hand in hand with us through his creation so that we may see it through his eyes. But he loves us enough to offer us a choice. He chose us and continues to choose us despite our mess. The question is do we choose him?
