This time last year, I was crossing a border, a border that seemed impossible. I was on a bus ride from Mozambique to Malawi and I was overwhelmed with doubt and fear and feeling like a complete failure. And I was sure that there was no way through this impossible situation.
But there was a behind-the-scenes God, who “in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control” (Hebrews 2:8).
And we got through that border.
I’m reminded of that story because this year, I’m about to cross another border, and it feels impossible again.
I have recently accepted a position at Adventures in Missions (AIM) to be the Regional Logistics Representative for Central America. Now that might sound like a lot of fancy words, but let me break it down for you:
Regional: I will manage the region of Central America. There are several other regions that have different representatives at AIM.
Logistics: I’m in charge of the details, the nuts and bolts. If this sounds familiar, that’s because I was the logistics leader for my squad during my Race. I will manage all the logistics for any World Race teams traveling to my region.
Representative: I will be representing AIM in Central America to the many pastors, missionaries, ministries, and churches that host World Racers. This means I will connect, check in, build relationships, visit and meet with all of the Central American hosts in AIM’s network.
When I first read the job description, my heart leapt. It seemed like someone had literally created this job for ME, Kate Campbell. A role where I could handle details and logistics, build relationships with people, cast vision for an organization I love, as well as speak Spanish – and maybe get to travel a bit? YES, I’m in!
So, three interviews and a few weeks later, I was HIRED.
And I am moving down to Gainesville, Georgia.

I am not so worried about crossing the border from South Carolina into Georgia (I hear the border patrol down there isn’t too strict), but here’s a border I do need to cross:
I have to raise support for part of my salary.
After I spent some time praying last night about this aspect of my job, I began to read Hebrews, and was immediately drawn in by one verse in particular:
“Now in putting everything in subjection to him, he left nothing outside his control.” Hebrews 2:8
Come ON, is that a PROMISE or what?!
NOTHING is outside of His control. This new job, my future living situation, my financial situation, the support I’m raising for Adventures in Missions – all of it is under His sovereignty because NOTHING is outside of his control.
As I go forward with that confidence toward this new border of sorts, I want to boldly ask you, my faithful friends, loving family and dear supporters:
Would you consider being part of a team supporting the work I will do with Adventures in Missions?
I will begin my new job on March 20, and I am responsible for raising $1,000 in monthly support for AIM. Would you prayerfully consider helping me reach this goal and giving $20, $50, $100 or more a month?
If you are interested in learning more or making a donation, please visit my NEW AIM blog: katecampbell.myadventures.org. Feel free to subscribe for updates to learn more about the ministry I will be doing with AIM in these upcoming months.
Thank you for your love and support in the past and moving forward. I am excited to have you come alongside me as we do some awesome Kingdom-building work. I know God will shower His favor upon you as you take steps toward faithfully building His Kingdom in whatever way He leads you.
