Laundry

Laundry

Laundry for days…

Its month 6 of this crazy adventure I’m on and the lord has called myself and my sweet sister Caroline into a completely unexpected afternoon ministry.

We have committed to doing the whole squads laundry. This consists of 3 teams a week…

Monday (team) In-Syinc + Towdah

Tuesday Kaleo + raw

Wednesday grafted + covenant

I said this was unexpected because the norm  in the afternoons is to do something with the kids, but I was praying about how I could serve my whole squad in a new Real authentic way. He answered my prayer one day as sat out in the afternoon sun washing my own laundry with Caroline. The Lord laid it heavy on my heart…He revealed to me that this could be the opportunity I was looking for.

Doing laundry here in Africa isn’t the easiest, it’s a process so it normally takes a couple hours, you normally sweat sitting in the sun, and your arms get real tired. Also side not: your clothes get real dirty here and it’s not the greatest washing dirty dirty clothes by hand. So this means there are a lot of people on the squad that really don’t like doing laundry and normally avoid it at all cost.

I was sitting there that day and just told Caroline what the lord was speaking to me I said “I think I want to do the squads laundry” and sure enough she agreed. She said she was thinking the same thing. So there it was we started a norm.

Wow it has been so awesome to serve in this way! Almost everyday we get to sit out in the afternoon African sun with Papa and scrub, rinse, hang, repeat. Papa has been teaching me about what the fruit of the spirit kindness and patience looks like and as I find myself serving with a joyful heart he blesses me right in turn! Learning what DOING LOVE looks like has been such a great exciting journey!

Go ask Papa what doing love looks like? Ask him what living generously should look like right here right where you are? Don’t wait just do it. You will be blesses right in turn beyond your wildest dreams!
